"Nature Walk" - SS/LM (Yup they are both boys so... Slash warning)

Title: Nature Walk
Author: Critterel aka Magialuna
Pairing: LM/SS
Warnings: None really.
Words: 668
Beta: WhiteCotton (aka WhiteCotton the Patient... not the medical kind)
A/N: Got the idea after an email from BertaS re: “Too Big” where she mentioned Lucius and a group of others were 'walking in the forest'. (WhiteCotton tells me this is a 'ficlet' rather than a really long drabble)

Lucius sighed quietly in irritation as he swatted the small bug that had dared settle on his arm. What in damnation had convinced him that following Severus on this ridiculous errand to harvest Moonflowers was something he in any way wanted to do? True, he had missed Severus' company the last couple of evenings, but while he was technically 'with him', this was far from the enjoyable evening he had envisioned. He pushed a low-hanging tree limb to the side with his cane and proceeded, attempting to conceal his annoyance from his companion.

Unfortunately, not very well.

Severus stood up from plucking the blossoms at his feet with a look of amusement. “Honestly Lucius, with the way you're behaving one would think you never go outside. Simply cast an insect shielding spell. Are you not the one who constantly needles me about 'forgetting I'm a wizard' when I don't indulge in constant wand-waving?”

Curbing his temper at Severus' tone, Lucius cast a silent charm to repel the insects. It hadn't occurred to him that Severus meant to go gallivanting about the forest for hours when he had suggested he accompany him on this ridiculous errand. Surely, he could train a house elf for this menial labour.

“I see that look, Lucius,” Severus interjected at the blond's much-put-upon air. “To answer the question I'm sure is on your mind – no, house-elves cannot be counted on to harvest potion ingredients effectively . Salazar only knows in what condition I'd get my flowers. You can relax, we're done now, time to enjoy nature now that we are here.” His smirk did not reassure Lucius in the least.

“'Enjoy nature' you say, Severus?” Lucius replied, plucking a twig from his hair. “I believe I'll pass. However, I'm quite ready to enjoy a fire and some brandy if you've completed your errand.” Enjoy nature indeed.

“Indulge me for a moment, Luc,” said Severus softly, reaching back and gently grasping Lucius' hand to impel him forward down the footpath with him. They emerged presently in a small clearing where a large blanket and small basket lay waiting. At Severus' signal, Lucius sat next to him.

The basket contained chocolate-covered strawberries, a very fine bottle of champagne - both well chilled by a charm - and a small package, which Severus quietly presented to Lucius after his lover had settled himself and brushed off his robes. “It's been a year since we began this again,” he said, clearly uncomfortable. “I thought perhaps you might accept a token of my... commitment to this relationship.” He busied himself with pouring champagne into two flutes and handing one over to Lucius.

Lucius opened the small box, shocked and touched to find a gold claddagh ring – quite similar to one he had given Severus... what was it twenty years ago now? “Very appropriate Severus. I will be quite honoured to wear this.”

“Before you ask... I still have mine,” Severus murmured as Lucius pulled him close for a slow, thorough kiss. He tasted of champagne, the firewhiskey they had sipped before setting out and that addictive taste he'd found quite unique to Lucius nearly half a lifetime ago. He drew Lucius into an embrace, wrapping his arms around him and resting his chin on Lucius' head. “I know you've found this evening quite irritating, Lucius,” he commented silkily, “but let me show you it is indeed possible to enjoy nature.” He lifted a chocolate-covered strawberry to the blond's lips.

Touched by the effort Severus had put into planning his little surprise, he sighed and relaxed his head on the younger man's shoulder, sipped the excellent champagne and lifted a succulent strawberry to his lover's lips. Lucius wasn't certain he'd ever 'enjoy' nature, but he was certain it looked infinitely better than it had a short time ago. Perhaps there was something to be said for the privacy, the moonlight and perhaps even a sturdy tree...

RIP Farrah Fawcett

I was surprised how very sad I was to hear of Farrah's passing today. I mean, I don't *know* her obviously. However, I have looked up to her for years. First it was just for her incredible beauty, so fresh and different than those before her. (Were those really *nipples* on her poster? I was so embarrassed!)

Then I looked up at her for daring to act in "The Burning Bed" and for garnering critical acclaim when everyone had told her she wouldn't be any more than a pretty face.

Then recently I found myself awed by her courage as she battled anal cancer. How she spoke out about her illness, fought it and even let herself be filmed at her very worst so others could see what cancer really was.

My thoughts and prayers are with her family. Such an incredible woman, she has left a mark.

"Home" SS/LM (Yup they are both boys so... Slash warning)

Title: Home
Pairing: LM/SS
Words: 135
Warning: M/M (Aka slash) tha's about it.
A/N: My first attempt at drabble since someone asked me to try. I tried but I do not know how you all get it down to 100 words! SS/LM

For a horrible moment upon awaking he is certain he is in his cell – dirty, cold and so alone.

“I'm here,” murmurs a beloved baritone voice. A stained hand caresses a blond temple.

“And I am glad of it.” Elegant fingers stroke black hair as Severus' lips descend. Lucius' words are cool and elegant, yet need is naked in his kiss. Inhaling the musky scent he had so missed; he runs a hand over a scarred back, loses himself in black eyes.

Is it need read in his eyes which prompts his Legilimens to bury himself roughly; ravage his mouth with this raw passion which pulls his soul away from the bleakness that was Azkaban?

Or is this new desperation Severus' own?

It matters not. He is here and it is perfection.

Story Recommendation

I think I have read probably one of the most unusual stories I've ever read.

I have to recommend it- my conscience demands it! : )

It's funny because it isn't even one of my favorite pairings.

Warning: There is incest and slash involved.

http://torino10154.insanejournal.com/56054.html?view=3095286#t3095286

It is by Torino and called "It Happened One Night."

I am not going to say much else because I really don't want to ruin it for you.

Curiosity Killed the Cat? -Dreamwidth

So... Ok I'm seeing lots of my flist talking about Dreamwidth now. I just got an IJ account!

And to be honest it's bloody hard keeping track of LJ and IJ. And a lot of those people are the same people. It's just that there are enough who are not that I would not leave either.

I am such a content whore.

I love to devour new, different and better writing, thought or art.

Think about it, process it... mull it about.

But it is getting to be where there is simply too much. I already catch myself with so many open tabs on Firefox that it keeps crashing. Sigh. Yeah I'm one of those. I can't close it til I read it though, see?

So, why Dreamwidth? Anyone care to share why they are opening themselves to yet another site to friendlist and monitor?

It gets tiring sometimes. I was just starting to enjoy knowing who some of my flist are.

Of course I'm recovering from some sort of upper respiratory illness so, I'm rather tired at the moment.

On the if this rumor is true I'll be quite happily excited front... has anyone else heard the rumor that David Bowie may sing on American Idol's finale?

Hysterical Piece of Harry Potter Art

So I found this hysterical picture and got permission to use it as an Icon but it just is too small. You'd never get it. I swear I would never have thought anyone could get these particular people's expressions so exquisitely perfect.. but OMG... I laughed for like an hour. I still laugh when I look at this.

The nuances of it just... Lucius's expression slays me.

If the picture does not display correctly because of frames, just right click on it and do a display picture in new tab...

If you think it is as brilliant as I do please tell the artist. The original is located at:

Unbelievable Harry Potter Art and a HP Tarot

So.

Today I was a thinking. Yeah a scary pasttime. And I went looking for a Harry Potter Tarot. I've loved tarot for years and it just seemed there HAD to be a good and well thought out one for HP.

I was directed to one which I will not mention because it was just... scarey.

Won't really go into it much except for the fact that Severus, dear Severus was not even Major arcana. Now... if anyone has even cracked open a book you might think that dear Snape had something to do with the resolution of the story if not being one of the major players. This person had him as a "Head of House" (Basically being a King Of Swords.) HOWEVER, LUNA was a Major arcana card.

Please just slap me now.

So... then I found this site.

http://ellygator.deviantart.com/gallery/

Okays... now just toddle on over there while you are good and awake and be ready to drool.... ALOT.

This woman can draw. She can draw Severus, Lucius, Hermione, Remus, Sirius... and they all look DAMN good. She can even make beautiful jewelery. IF she wasn't so darn nice about it you'd almost want to be catty about it.

So. Go forth and drool. I hath done my good deed for today. Oh yeah. If found another one too. This young lady also does some lovely HP art and allowed me to swipeth an icon from her for here. So oggleth at will. : )

I feel so... tingly and sharing and stuff today. : )

I think it's cause I've been looking at all those pictures of Jason Isaacs...

Open Mindedness

I've been thinking a lot about my prejudices and paradigms and how reading fanfiction has changed them over the last couple years.

My best friend in college was a lesbian, and I discovered at that point of my life that I truly don't really care what other people do as long as they are good people... however I had never read slash fiction. Mainly because I figured since I'm not a homosexual male that I would not enjoy it or get anything out of it.

Over the last couple of months I am finding that I actually enjoy nearly all fanfiction, if it is written well. It, of course, has to be generally gramatically correct and the spelling can't be awful... but I have found there are several authors who write only slash that are witty and who do very deep (pun not intended) and insightful stories with a lot of emotion. I really enjoy stories that involve the characters having to really examine who they are and why they act as they do especially if the character remains in character to their fandom.

So this is just a shoutout to some of the slash writers I've friended over the last couple of months. You have increased my openmindedness and shown me a whole new part of the fandom I hadn't looked at before. Thanks for being such excellent writers.
